Dear reader,
Understandably, you might think we have forgotten you, but that is not the case. Last spring, I launched Other Swans with clear intentions for this magazine to appear quarterly, with the seasons, yet one year later, issue number three is only now arriving. Our tardiness is born neither from apathy nor forgetfulness, but from the fact that a lot is happening all the time! You have probably noticed this phenomenon in your own life. I have decided to stop fretting about what I had categorized as a personal failure and to accept and embrace that Other Swans installments will develop just as the conversations develop: naturally, and at their own pace. Perhaps it is best to think of Other Swans not as something regular and predictable like the phases of the moon, but instead as some kind of happy surprise, some shiny pebble delivered to the stoop—when the mood strikes—by an enigmatic raven. I hope you will find these conversations worth the wait.
